This past May, I was fortunate enough to take a quick trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Despite all of the unfortunate deadly incidents that have come forward after my visit, I would like to share my experience visiting this beautiful country.
We stayed at the Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real, a beautiful 5-star all inclusive property that was one of several buildings on the sprawling Paradisus Palma Real estate.
The main hotel, Paradisus Palma Real, was where the beach was located. The sand was so white and the waters were blue and fairly calm. The beach was nice and very hot, as expected for most Caribbean islands.
Our room was labeled as a suite with a garden view, but really it was much more! Most of the time when staying at a hotel on the beach, I always prefer a balcony with an ocean view. However, when seeing how much outdoor space you get with the garden view, it was definitely the better option in my opinion.
The first floor garden view comes with a covered outdoor patio area that has a couch, table and hot tub. The uncovered are has two lounge chairs, PLUS a good size tiki hut that also has a couch. The outdoor area also has super lush greenery and flowers that give such a relaxing vibe and is where I enjoyed spending much of my time.
Of course, we took some time to leave the resort and enjoy a few outdoor activities. We spent one day on a half day ATV tour and then another day visiting Scape Park Cap Cana. The park included a self-guided cultural tour, cave visits, and more!
I had to add the cute cats that were all over the airport 😊
