Happy Friday!
Art Basel was just last week and we definitely needed some time to recover from all the fun we had!😅 Every year, we look forward to witnessing the creativity expressed artistically in various ways, whether it’s an exhibition, a wall or an experience. Watch the video below and keep reading to find out what the highlights of our Art Basel Miami 2018 were.

We decided to do a little Art Basel Pregame at the Grand Opening of Casa Sensei, a new Pan-Asian/Latin restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale. We didn’t make it in time for the Gondola Ride on the Himmarshee Canal, but we did get to enjoy the Asian cuisine and views of the Intracoastal. We walked through their zen garden and sat along one of the two large terraces overlooking Las Olas and the canal. Our favorite bites of the night were the Fried Tofu and the Veggie Rolls that they had in the MASSIVE Sushi Boat, which pretty much took up the whole room in their private dining area.
We love that there’s the new spots opening on Las Olas Boulevard, in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale.
As always, you can shop similar looks below!

One of our favorite art installations this year was by Istituto Marangoni Miami in partnership with Arcadia Earth, who created an immersive experience with every intention to make you “Re-think” issues of waste and sustainability. The project was designed by the award-winning experiential designer, Valentino Vettori. Damages created by the fashion industry, along with the world’s waste practices and deforestation throughout the earth were presented artistically in the exhibit.
Artists Tamara Kostianovsky, Cindy Pease Roe, Etty Yaniv, and Samuelle Green created AR experiences, like the ones below.
The exhibit titled “Fashion Evolved: A World of Plastics” featured works made out of recycled plastic by internationally known designers advocating sustainable fashion.
We loved the concept of the Re-Think exhibit and how it brought awareness to how simple and conscious actions can have a massive impact on global warming, with the goal of a more sustainable lifestyle.

At The Setai Hotel, ex-counterfeiter Arthur J. Williams Jr. hosted an exhibition of his work, donating a portion of his sales to After-School All-Stars, the nation’s largest nonprofit organization helping at-risk youth. He is the subject of the book The Art of Making Money by Jason Kersten and is best known for successfully replicating the 1996 $100 bill in the United States and landed in federal prison for close to 7 years. While serving time, he took art classes to become an artist.
His works included interactive 3-D paintings, images of Kim Kardashian, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra and other celebrities were displayed in the hotel’s lounge and iconic courtyard. We enjoyed delicious bites and on sipped the “The Arty” which was made with chili-infused vodka, passion fruit-infused rum, passion fruit pulp, ginger syrup and chili flakes. A gold giving tree in the VIP lounge was pinned with cash donations from guests with 100% of funds collected benefitting at-risk youth.

1 of the 2 daytime events we attended was a lovely luncheon and tour on board the new luxury cruise ship, Celebrity Edge, with the Evening Standard’s executive editor Amira Hashish. We started off in the The Grand Plaza, which has a breathtaking three-story chandelier.
Then it was lunch time at the Fine Cut Steakhouse, which we were lucky enough to enjoy vegan and pescatarian dishes. When got to the table, we each had a specially made illustrations made by Eva Redmonti. How amazing did she do?!
After our delicious lunch, we toured the rest of the ship before it was time for them to leave. Our favorite room of the tour was Eden. If you’ve seen our Instagram feed, you’ll know why. 😉
We got to check out the amazing views on the Magic Carpet, which change along with the experience depending on which deck it’s on.
Lastly, we got to check out the Celebrity Suite, which made us feel like we were in a luxury hotel as opposed to a tiny room on a cruise ship.
We hope to be able to enjoy a trip on the Celebrity Edge very soon!
Thanks again to ES Insider for having us and be sure to check out the story here!
Billionaire Boys Club x Adidas
We took a quick break after the luncheon and then in the evening met up with our girl Lizzy to check out the Billionaire Boys Club x Adidas pop-up experience in Wynwood.
The event was an opening celebration for the pop-up experience that is currently open to the public until May 2019. There was amazing music and drinks, as well as a special appearance by Pharrell.
Of course there was also BBC ICECREAM’s most popular items, exclusive BBC Miami logo tees and hoodies, and other brands such as Human Made, NEIGHBORHOOD, CDG Play and more.

Friday night, we attended the #SayILoveYou Speakers Series presented by dr. brandt skincare. The Dr. Brandt Foundation and The Shoe Surgeon collaborated to raise awareness on the importance of mental health and celebrated the launch of the custom Nike Air Force 1 sneaker, called the First Edition #SayILoveYou Sneaker.
During the panel, Dominic Ciambrone, The Shoe Surgeon, shared his experience living with depression and anxiety. Having both been to college, we know how stressful it can be and the collaboration aims to make getting help for mental health issues more accessible. Dominic found art as a way to channel his feelings and share his story. He hopes others will find a way to do the same.
The #SayILoveYouSneaker is up for sale and all of the proceeds will be donated to the University of Miami to fund community partnership mental health programs.
Sagamore Brunch

Saturday morning, we went to the Sagamore for their 17th Annual Sagamore Brunch with our favorites Simply Kenjay and the power couple from Flachswork. #SagamoreIsArt. The inside of the hotel was covered in artwork from the moment we entered the hotel until we stepped outside towards the pool, enjoying our champagne and light brunch bites. It was a beautiful day and the perfect opportunity to just hang out and catch up.
