If you’ve been following our Instagram stories (If you don’t, you’ll want to after reading this post so you can win some prizes!), you’ve noticed that we’ve really been focusing on skincare lately, especially now that summer is coming up. We believe that skin is ALWAYS in and we love trying out new products that we can share with you that might help you on your skincare journey.
For the past few weeks, we’ve been trying out a few of the products from VitaBloom. VItaBloom products primarily consist of natural ingredients, which are perfect for our sensitive skin, and focus on giving you that youthful glow that everyone loves! Currently, we’ve been using the Renew Moisturizer, the Balance Cleanser, and the Glow Serum. Check out our review of these products below!
I have combination skin and finding a natural cleanser that works well on all parts of my skin has been a challenge – either I’m left with too-dry cheeks or a still oily t-zone. Enter this cleanser. For starters, it’s main ingredient is rose hip oil and is unbelievably gentle – no part of my skin feels stripped or tight after use, and there’s no irritating smell. I wouldn’t say it’s a miracle worker regarding oil control, but it does keep my T-zone manageable and breakouts to a minimum. It doesn’t fight acne, but never claims to do so – what it works best for is giving my skin enough of a cleanse so any makeup my makeup wipe missed is removed and can be used in my daytime and nighttime skin care routines.
This serum is a vitamin-based antioxidant that is meant to give your skin a natural glow. The key ingredients include: Ferulic acid, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Vitamins B3 and B5. Firstly, I love when products have Vitamin C in them, especially in serums! My only issue with most serums is that they are usually too strong for my sensitive skin, so I end up having to use them very sparingly or I can’t use them at all due to irritation. Luckily, I did not have that issue with this serum so I can definitely confirm that it’s great for sensitive skin.
I was able to use it everyday right after washing my face and although it has an oil consistency it did not make my skin oily and actually soaked into my skin rather quickly. The serum definitely does do its job of giving you a refreshed “awake” glow in the morning, which is perfect for someone like me who is not a morning person! The results are also pretty quick compared to other serums I’ve used in the past. I would recommend this serum to individuals with oily/combination and sensitive skin that are looking to have a soft glow. However, I think for those with deeper wrinkles or pigmentation and dry skin might need something a bit stronger and more hydrating.
No matter what time of day or your skin type is, you should always moisturize. I don’t like super heavy moisturizers, and that is why I love this one! It is so soft and feels so nice on the skin. This moisturizer also really does put a lot of moisture into the skin, and even though I have oily parts in my skin, it is mostly oily because my skin needs the moisture. Once absorbed, make up applies smoothly and lasts longer than over thicker cream lotions.
The moisturizer was definitely my preferred product, however I am biased because even though I have oily skin I am OBSESSED with hydrating and moisturizing my skin. I’m also a huge fan of hyaluronic acid, which is what sold me on this moisturizer since it is a key ingredient. My favorite way to use this product is to apply it right before I go to bed since it leaves my skin moisturized enough without being too oily. When I wake up in the morning my skin is usually still fairly hydrated and soft, which is a plus for me. I think this moisturizer would be a good fit for anyone that has oily/combination skin and needs a moisturizer for their anti-aging skincare regimen.
We also wanted to let you know that we have partnered with VitaBloom to host a giveaway in which TWO lucky followers can win the Renew Moisturizer (valued at $97)! Head over to our Instagram and stay tuned for the giveaway rules that will be announced on our IG stories on March 20!
