Have you ever wondered how pictures of celebrities from the red carpet always show them with glowy, poreless skin? Like myself, you probably thought it was just really good makeup (which does help) but that’s not the only reason. It’s actually due to a skincare treatment called the SilkPeel or Dermalinfusion.
A SilkPeel is a similar process to microdermabrasion, however it does not use crystals and is a skin-resurfacing treatment that combines exfoliation and infusion using condition-specific serums. The serums can target acne, anti-aging, or hydration.
I received my first SilkPeel at Pierini Esthetic in Doral, FL and the serums used on my skin were mostly for hydration since I just had a microneedling session a week prior. The aesthetician let me know that the treatment will make my skin super soft since it exfoliates the epidermis while also infusing medical grade solutions. This is the perfect treatment for those that have a big event the same day especially if you plan on wearing makeup afterwards because it gives your skin an amazing glow ✨.
As the treatment began, it definitely reminded me of microdermabrasion but it was much gentler. It’s a very quick and relaxing 30 minute treatment with no downtime so it’s perfect for a quick pick me up or if you want to treat yourself during your lunch break!
At the end of the treatment, the aesthetician was nice enough to apply a gold collagen face mask accompanied by a soothing hand massage. Once I was done, my skin looked so refreshed and hydrated and within a few hours it was literally SILKY SMOOTH. Now I see why they call it a SilkPeel!
If you’re a beginner to spa treatments or just looking for a simple alternative to a facial, I definitely recommend getting a SilkPeel. The results were amazing and I can’t wait to try it again!!
